Submitting an acceptable introduction of yourself and uploading your face photo is required for membership. Sign up only if you are able and willing to submit a reasonably decent profile and introduction of yourself when you sign up.

PozVille is a private network maintained by HIV positive men for fun and camaraderie not for profit. Since Oct 2007, PozVille has served as a gathering place for Dingo, real life friends, online buddies and other poz men to interact, have fun, exchange ideas and share stuff found on the net. We were the first all poz men network to use the "myspace facebook" style technology. Formerly known as PozQueers on the old me.com Snappville platform, PozVille is now hosted on a private server using its own software and generously funded by Dingo and friends.
Our network embraces alternative lifestyles pleasing visuals empowerment music sexuality art politics activism male beauty philosophy spirituality erotica and things you won’t find on other poz men sites. There's no rhyme or reason to our posts, just whatever catches the eye at any given moment. PozVille can be whatever you want it to be, as long as it is within the scope of our aims, parameters and boundaries.
*If you’re looking for meaningful friendships or long term relationships, social affinity networks can be a good alternative. PozVille is a social affinity network, not a dating site. There’s a big difference between the two. Social affinity is generally thought of as "marriage" to ideas, ideals and causes shared by a tight community of people who have a few common interests and goals or act together for specific purposes. The word affinity refers to "kinship of spirit" and other interpersonal commonalities. In close groups affinity is characterized by high levels of intimacy, sharing, empowerment and peer support.
Keeping it Real Level Up No Riff Raff
There aren't many quality social networks for positive folks and none dedicated solely for poz men that are inclusive of all poz men. Most groups and sites we’ve checked out are populated with lots of men looking for friends or an LTR who have very little or nothing in their profiling. And there are also a lot of abandoned accounts from the “one time visitors” and fake users created by trollers or spam bots mining for data. Research studies estimate that between 34 – 40 percent of user accounts on Yahoo groups, Ning sites and shared server networks are fake users* created by spammers and data mining bots. For real people wanting to meet others this can be frustrating and challenging.
We’re more prudent than others at sifting out the riff raff. Having our own server gives us more oversight and control substantially reducing fake sign ups. We make it a point to check all IP Addresses to ensure they are not coming from a country known to spam or cause harm to our members. We have built an extensive list of blocked IP addresses to help reinforce that and we don’t retain abandoned accounts.
To help ensure people on the site are real PozVille uses a “level up” system. There are three user levels - Visitor, Standard and Premiere. Certain actions have to take place in order to get to the next level, access some areas or to use some apps. By doing so, this gives a good indication that a real person is doing these tasks. The quality of one's profiling, posted content and responses factor into user levels. Those who put minimal effort into profiling may be moderated.
Weeding out the goats from the real people, keeping the riff raff and trolling at bay makes us smaller but the end result is an amiable and somewhat safer network for real people.
*Fake users are a major problem for all types of social media. Just like other sites we receive access requests submitted by spam bots doing automated sign ups. More often than not we are able to identify, reject and block them. When it’s hard to distinguish a bot from a real human user, our “level up” membership system comes into play. If you Google the words “automated sign ups on social networks” you will discover there are companies that specialize in doing automated sign ups or selling software that create fake users on social networks primarily to marketing entities who are data mining or wanting to get your personal contact information. This is often accomplished by automated bots which can fill out profile fields, usually a few words separated by commas or generalized responses. The same routine can then be used to login, upload a profile image, make friend requests, post comments and entice people to contact them off a site.
We know parts of PozVille may come across as being disorganized, unprofessional, eclectic, eccentric, strange, weird, quirky or faulty at times.
Rest assured they are – our network continually evolves.
Profiling Photo and Registration Guidelines
First Names and User Names
Use your real first name or the nickname your friends, family or co-workers usually call you. Do not use numbers, symbols or your initials as a first name. Names that may be confused with official staff and mascot names are not allowed. The monikers DINGO and KEYSMAN may not be used as any part of your first name or user name.
User names shouldn't be vulgar, obscene, sexually suggestive or contain the terms “420” “pnp” “sex” “sugar daddy” “escort” “generous” “top” “bottom” “versatile” “master” “slave” or “$$$”. Usernames and first names that promote any of the following are prohibited: sex, massage, substance abuse, racism, racial slurs, scatological slang, coarse language, escort services, illegal activity, domain names and websites.
Profiling and Introducing Yourself - Be Original in What You Say
Inputting nothing more than a few words, vague or generalized phrases and irrelevant responses to fill in spaces is not acceptable. Saying you'll do it later or typing "ask me" into the fields on the sign up form isn’t acceptable either. Doing so will get you rejected and blocked.
The most important question to answer on the form below is “What makes me unique and different?”
Write a few sentences about what makes you or your life unique and different, your personality attributes, your outlook on life and/or aspects of your lifestyle. If you are looking for a long term relationship the more you say about yourself and effort you put into answering the questions, the more genuine and real you will come across to others. Don't just type a few words separated by commas, do not write about what you do in bed, your physical attributes and stats or a shopping list of things you're looking for. If you are approved additional profiling input fields are available to share other details, interests, personal preferences, etc.
Profile Picture
Your profile photo should clearly show your face without any image distortion (no thumbnails). Your profile picture cannot include nudity, mature or offensive content. Do not use a photo that is a close up of your butt, crotch or showing yourself dressed only in undergarments.
Register with a Gmail, Yahoo or a primary or secondary email address from your ISP
PozVille has an excellent notification sending reputation with Gmail and Yahoo as well as with ATT, Comcast, Verizon and ALL other carriers that provide DSBL, broadband and wireless internet services. By registering on this network you agree to receive any normal activity notifications related to your activity, friend requests, private messages, comment alerts and other activity common to social networking.

Due to a significant spoofing and spam activity originating from these email domains, we no longer approve anyone using Hotmail Msn AOL Aim and Juno email addresses. Using anonymous proxy servers to register is not permitted. We do not “validate” and approve Boxbe users.
Duplicate Accounts, Erotic Content and Member Conduct
You are allowed one user account per lifetime. If your roommate or significant other is sharing the same computer or ISP address signs up, let us know. Don’t create duplicate accounts or use our site to have multiple personas or engage in prohibited activities, you’ll be blocked.
We do not conduct criminal or any other background checks on people. Assessing a person’s honesty and truthfulness is your responsibility. There is no substitute for acting with caution when communicating and meeting with new people on the Internet. For your safety, only exchange your private contact info in private. Do not direct others to contact you outside this site publicly in your profile, status updates, photos, blogs and other posted comments. i.e. we don't allow public posts that contain external contact information (email addresses, web addresses, phone numbers, etc.)
We have zero tolerance for racism, hate mongering and any flagrant discrimination. Any type of harassment and abusive behavior towards others, privately and publicly, will not be tolerated. No abusive and offensive tone or criticism against any member including looks, age, sexuality, creed, beliefs and lifestyle, indirectly or directly. We encourage people to express themselves freely within established guidelines and acceptable social behavior. This community is made up of varying lifestyles. Erotica is not our primary focus here, however, a limited amount of erotic content is presented and maintained by staff and friends under the monikers (aka Mascots), MachoMan and PeepShow. Posting links and email addresses into the main feeds and status blocks is prohibited. Accounts, profiles, first names, usernames, blogs, comments and postings designed to promote vacations, timeshares, websites, motivational seminars, for profit retreats, businesses, domain names, products and other services including affiliate links and images will be removed. Institutions and researchers may not sign up on this site. Using any part of this site for any research, studies or projects is not permitted and doing so will be considered a serious violation of privacy subject to legal ramifications.
BE WARNED that some areas of PozVille contains nudity, adult language and explicit images that may offend some. If it is illegal to view such material as determined by the laws of the state or the community in which you live, do not register in this network.
